What a Weekend

We had a very busy / fun and productive weekend.  It was our neighborhood rummage sale weekend.  Grandma Joan came up to help with the kids and Grandma Pam and Grandpa Corny stopped over to help as well.  We had a lot to get rid of and while it seemed like were weren't getting rid of much, when I was packing up, I realized it was almost gone.  The sale did very well.  The best part of the sale was the cookie sale.  Our house turned into a cookie factory and the kids (especially Ryan) turned into cookie sales people. Ryan would yell "cookies for sale.  $.25!".  He loved every second of it, and they were able to feed their piggies pretty well!

When we were starting to close the sale up, we had a customer come in.  I was a little frustrated that someone was coming in when we were clearly packing up...but it turned out to be one of the highlights of the weekend.  The girl was carrying a green easter basket and in it was a duckling.  A duckling wearing a diaper.  The kids LOVED it.  They followed that duck around the garage and giggled for 15 minutes or so.  I'm pretty sure it will be a long time before we have a duck in the garage again...

After the sale we went to one of our neighbors house for a Derby party.  I missed the dress up memo - whoops, we don't watch a lot of horse races, I didn't know... next year I will be ready!  Our horses didn't win, but we had a lot of fun.  Bonus -- we got to see what Mike would look like with hair!  (Can you believe I didn't take any other photos at this party?!)

As if all of that wasn't enough...we also celebrated Cinco de Pie-O on Sunday night.  It was our 3rd annual and it gets bigger and better every year.  If you ask Mike, this was probably the best year ever.   His Chocolate Raspberry Pie was the winner.  It was well deserved, it was delicious.  I made a Not-So-Humble Pie, which was a peanut butter pie with chocolate chips and a pretzel crust. I thought it turned out great, but Mike didn't.  He threw the left overs away.  I am still craving that pie two days later!  We are already have ideas for next year!

Like I said, busy but fun weekend!
