3rd Annual Cinco de Pie-O

Cinco de Pie-O is always such a fun party and one of the greatest ideas Mike has ever had.  It keeps getting bigger and better every year.  This year we had 16 pies, and no duplicates.  Mike made a Chocolate Raspberry Pie and I made a Not-so-humble Pie, which was peanut butter pie with chocolate chips and a pretzel crust.

We tried something different this year.  Everyone took small spoonfuls of each pie.  This made it a lot easier to try most of the pies, and they were all good.  People seemed to take voting more seriously this year.  I saw a few people go up and taste a few pies again before they voted.

The tallying of the votes was a pretty big deal, everyone was anxious and excited.  Here are the final results:

And the winner:

I have to admit, it was a well deserved win.  The pie was delicious!  When we were making the pies, Leah called my pie, "her pie"...but after we tasted them, she called daddy's pie "her pie".  Ryan's favorite pie was grasshopper and dreamsicle, or the ones with candy bars.  They were all so good.

We were so lucky that it was a nice day and we were able to get outside.  I can't imagine the mess we would have had to clean up if all of the kids had been inside.

Another successful year under our belts.  Happy Cinco de Pie-O
!!
